My name is Hannes Heidfeld and I work as an Research Assistant at the Chair for Mechatronics at Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg. My research topic is the development of vehicle state estimators with focus on vehicle dynamic control for electric vehicles.
What you will talk about at this year’s FISITA World Congress?
I will talk about the development of a vehicle state estimator using the Unscented Kalman Filter algorithm. Different approaches for optimization-based tuning of the filter are presented. And the results are compared.
What benefits will participants gain from your presentation?
The participants will get insight in the complex task of Unscented Kalman Filter tuning using the example of vehicle state estimation.
Which trends do you consider as the most important for your domain of research and your geographical region, and what challenges and opportunities do these trends present?
Future trends might be the connection towards autonomous driving, integration of additional sensors like cameras and the usage of artificial intelligence.
