Please introduce yourself briefly…
I am an engineer from Hyundai Motor Company’s Safety Performance Advancement Development Team. Various safety related tasks are in progress, and the main tasks are safety performance goal management, performance prediction, vehicle design and package review in the pre-development stage. I am a Passive Safety-based engineer, and I am interested in integrated safety research in connection with Active Safety and am currently working on a project in this area.
What you will talk about at this year’s FISITA World Congress?
Using machine learning, we studied vehicle crash performance prediction based on vehicle section images. It is intended to be used in the preceding stage of vehicle development, where detailed modelling is difficult. and for this purpose, a unique model pre pre-processing technique was devised and tested. To this end, a unique model pre-processing technique was devised and tested.

Which trends do you consider as the most important for your domain of research and your geographical region?
In the safety field, integrated safety is a hot topic. Our goal is to make a safer, more reliable vehicle, going beyond the existing traditional passive safety.
As the concept of active safety is introduced and automatic control is applied to vehicles, numerous accident scenarios appear and require verification. There are limitations to existing test methods and CAEs. I think it is necessary to develop a tool that can verify accident scenarios more efficiently.
