Makoto Saito is a material engineer of Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan. He develops computer simulation methodologies to accelerate material design and discovery of batteries, emission catalysts, semiconductors, fuel cells, and so on.
What you will talk about at this year’s FISITA World Congress?
Saito-san shows a new simulation methodology to accelerate the design optimization of the next generation battery, all-solid-state lithium-ion battery (ASSLiB), for electric vehicles. One of the major challenges of ASSLiB developments is the battery performance decay caused by crack formation in the electrodes during charge and discharge. He explains the details of the simulation model and discusses a guideline for durable battery design.
