The programme for EuroBrake on 17 to 19 of June in Mainz, Germany is complete and the event will feature the usual high-quality mix of technical sessions, keynotes and panel discussions each addressing a relevant topic that is a priority to the braking industry. As usual we will be welcoming 18 students and young engineers onto the EuroBrake Student and Young Engineer Opportunities Programme, who will be showcasing their work as a poster at the event, so please make sure you find the time to visit their work and welcome the next generation of braking engineers to the community.

If you haven’t booked your ticket yet, you can still take advantage of the early bird rate until the end of April.

The topic of this year’s World Mobility Summit on 13 and 14 of November in Michigan, USA, will be on the highly relevant topic of electric vehicles and the new landscape of the sustainable mobility age. The event serves as a vibrant platform for technical leadership engagement, dialogue, and exchange, delivering thought leadership, networking, and collaboration in the member-led environment of FISITA. All FISITA Corporate and Society Members receive one complimentary and exclusive member invitation, there are also a small number of additional tickets available for senior leaders from non-member companies to purchase.

We continue to engage with the intricacies of the mobility technology ecosystem, which is at the core of FISITA's mission, driven by the collective efforts of automotive and mobility professionals worldwide. FISITA endeavours to highlight mobility technology trends through a member-led, technology-neutral platform for collaborative discussion and knowledge exchange. This platform comprises FISITA working groups, reports, events, and more, focusing on the areas of mobility technology as prioritised by our members. From traditional propulsion to carbon-neutral solutions, vehicle hardware to software-defined vehicles, and connectivity to automation, FISITA aims to support the development of a sustainable and circular economy for mobility. As a leading global membership organisation, we prioritise professional networking, collaboration and building connections among mobility leaders, engineers, and stakeholders. We are eager to engage with and connect with industry professionals to further enrich and expand the mobility technology ecosystem and we invite our members to propose priority subjects, driving the agenda forward in this dynamic field by contacting Martin Kahl.

April is already looking to be a highly productive month with numerous Working Group and Committee meetings; the launch of our new website, which will be slicker and more user friendly – and delivered in manageable phases as we move forward; and finally, I will be in Detroit the week commencing 15 April to hold an Executive Board meeting and attend the SAE WCX event and would be pleased to meet with you in person if you are in the area, please contact Amy Ferguson who will help coordinate diaries.

All the best

Chris Mason
