The BAJA SAE Series® is an event for undergraduate engineering students, organized globally by the SAE International and their affiliated societies around the world. The event originated in the name of Mini - BAJA, in the year 1976 at the University of Carolina. Since then, BAJA has spanned across six countries – USA, Mexico, South Africa, Korea, Brazil and India.

In India, BAJA has grown to become a very popular event for young engineering talent to showcase their skills and acquire a real-life experience while overcoming challenges. With Dr.KC Vora at the helm and Dr Pawan Goenka as the Chairman of the Steering Committee, BAJA SAEINDIA launched in 2007.

The 9th edition of BAJA SAEINDIA in 2016 received the highest number of applicants since it began - almost 400 teams have registered to take part.
