The Student Opportunities Programme (ESOP) was a great success at EuroBrake 2020. EuroBrake was due to be held in Barcelona, Spain, from 2-4 June; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we could not hold the physical event this year. But, that did not stop another successful programme!
We welcomed students (virtually) to our programme from all around the world, where they took part in Q & A sessions with industry and acdemic experts, joined Round Table sessions, Surgery Sessions and 1-2-1's with experts from Altair, the ESOP 2020 Sponsor.
Because the physical event could not take place, and the students could not be in the same room - we knew we had to overcome the challenge of time zones. To ensure that all students, from America to Thailand, could attend, we hosted serveral sessions throughout the day that were suitable for multiple time zones - that way no one missed out.
The feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive and although it was not the programme that we set out to deliver at the beginning of the year, you can read below just some of the highlights from stduents:
"Thank you for the good opportunity! Due to COIVD-19 situation, ESOP 2020 online was a better way to meet the experts around the world. This was a great time to make some new friends who have interested in the related field of brake system."
"I appreciate every effort put into making the online sessions possible. Every word really opened my mind to the possibilities"
"I found the round table sessions very helpful as it allowed me to ask questions and to have discussion with other students."
"The CV session is most beneficial as it gave the opportunity for ask question to companies at what they look for when they read a CV."
"Amazing opportunity to get feedback from people who have walked the path you're interested in."
"It was very enlightening especially the smaller groups breakout session."
