The FISITA World Congress 2021 online system is now being populated and made ready for the start of the event on Tuesday 14 September at 09:00 Central European Summer Time (CEST). The below explains what to expect in the online system. Technical sessions start next Tuesday (14 September) at 09:00 CEST with sessions in four parallel themed tracks on Automated and Connected Mobility, Manufacturing Materials and Lightweight Solutions, Advanced Driverline and Energy Management, and Emissions and Pollutants Caused by Vehicles. There is time to connect before and after the sessions with chat rooms open in the breaks. The first Plenary Key Note session is at 12:00 CEST and includes:

There are three keynote plenary sessions in total – one each day. You can browse the online platform and learn more about the event here: https://fisita2021.gcon.me/page/home. The system provides both a detailed programme listing with links to discussions for registered users, and a programme overview with sessions arranged by time.
There are areas for the World Congress Exhibition and the Islands of Excellence. Exhibitors in both areas can showcase their latest developments and delegates can access videos, documents and both text and video chat. The Islands of Excellence area is for universities and research institutes to showcase their new and innovative mobility engineering projects as part of the exhibition. As these areas are populated, we will post further information, but it's worth visiting to see what is already available. Ansys, Skoda, TÜV SÜD, and the University of West Bohemia already have multiple assets available publicly with chat and videochat available for registered delegates. Bosch, CTU in Prague, ZF, CzechInvest, the Czech Convention Bureau and the University of Coventry are populating their areas.
The chat system being used during the event is called Wonder.me. This system offers a virtual space in which people can meet and talk. There are several similar systems now in common use and they all allow attendees to move around a space and as they get closer to others, they can join a conversation; leaving the conversation as they move away. It is all permission based and you can customise your avatar and it is up to you how to interact. Content from the 2020 FISITA Web Congress is available within the FISITA Technical Library, while material from previous Congress events back to 1998 is available in the FISITA Store. By the time of this year’s Congress, all the content will be available within the FISITA Technical Library, with free access provided to FISITA members.
