The Sociedad de Técnicos de Automoción (STA), FISITA’s member society in Spain, has teamed up again with the Barcelona International Motor Show (SIAB) to announce the 6th edition of the Barcelona International Motor Show Awards for the best technological developments in the automotive industry.
The aim of the awards is to reward and increase awareness of the innovative work carried out by companies and institutions in the automotive industry.
Any companies, universities or institutions may propose their projects or innovations to be considered for an award, providing the work has taken place between 1 February 2005 and 1 March 2007.
The International Jury will award a 1st Prize, a 2nd Prize and a 3rd Prize. The winners will be presented with trophies during a special awards ceremony held during the 34th Barcelona International Motor Show. Winners will also have their innovations displayed at STA’s stand during the show.
The deadline for nominations has been extended to: 20 April 2007.
The awards were last presented in 2005 when judges had choose from 87 projects entered from automotive companies and research organisations worldwide. The 2005 winners were:
First prize Hella, for the creation of intelligent lights with LED technology
Second prize Saint Gobain, for the infrared reflecting glazing
Third prize Nissan, for a flexible manufacturing system
