As a disadvantaged group in road traffic, pedestrians are vulnerable in traffic accidents. This report will take the environmental perception around vehicles as a starting point, and discuss the intelligent protection technology of vehicles for pedestrian safety from the aspects of active safety and passive safety. Through the discussion of posture detection, position tracking, trajectory prediction and intention recognition of the pedestrians in front of vehicles, it is expected to provide technologies and methods of perception for the future research and development of vehicle intelligent safety system.
