FISITA World Mobility Summit heads to Shanghai in 2018

17 April 2018

FISITA, the international membership organisation for the automotive and mobility systems engineering profession, has today issued exclusive invites for the World Mobility Summit 2018, which will take place in Shanghai, China, on 4-5 November 2018 and focus on ‘Vehicle Connectivity’.

FISITA continues to build on the success of this exclusive technical leadership event through the strategic repositioning of the Summit, evolving its support of the international mobility systems engineering community.

With a refreshed title, the ‘FISITA World Mobility Summit’ offers a current and forward-looking platform which FISITA Corporate Members can continue to utilise as a key annual event focussing on future mobility concepts and strategies. In addition, the Programme Committee is embarking upon a new concept that will enable FISITA to issue a member-backed White Paper following each Summit, providing valuable thought leadership on each year’s specific subject matter.

In 2018, Summit attendees will explore ‘Vehicle Connectivity’ through a programme of panel discussions, plenary presentations and an interactive World Café session.

Three key topics have been defined through which the Programme Committee is now creating a high level, international line-up of speakers and contributors, as follows:

  • Policies and Strategies
  • Communication and Regulation
  • Applications and Infrastructure

Chris Mason, FISITA CEO, said: “We have refreshed the focus and intent for this important, global technical leadership event – through creation of the FISITA World Mobility Summit, we acknowledge the incredible evolution our industry is progressing.

“As we witness and contribute to the rapid advance of vehicle technology, I look forward to welcoming the world’s leading mobility systems engineers to Shanghai, to collaborate and share expertise in the pre-competitive environment of FISITA – this will conclude with the publication of the Summit White Paper, an important technical resource for our community.”

Delegates are also invited to attend the SAE-China Congress & Exhibition (SAECCE), which takes place directly after the FISITA World Mobility Summit from 6-8 November 2018.

To support the launch of the FISITA World Mobility Summit, a new website and video has been published, in addition to the Executive Summary from 2017. This document highlights speaker presentations and World Café discussions that took place in Geneva, Switzerland, under the theme, ‘Clearing the air; creating a path to sustainable mobility’ – download the Executive Summary here.

FISITA is also able to offer a small number of sponsorship and advertising opportunities, generating valuable brand visibility for a select number of organisations throughout the delivery of the FISITA World Mobility Summit. These opportunities are available to view here.
