Jeff Klei

Jeff Klei was appointed President of Continental North America, effective June 1, 2008. In this role, Klei is responsible for customer, governmental and other external relationships in the region. Klei also retained his current responsibilities as Vice President of Sales, General Motors Worldwide – a position to which he was appointed in July 2006. Additionally, he was elected Corporate Vice President, Continental Teves, Inc. in January 2000, and serves as a legal representative for the company.

Prior to this, Klei was Vice President, Sales and Marketing for all Continental Automotive Systems business units in North America. He has held several positions of increasing responsibility within the Sales organization since beginning his career with ITT Automotive in 1989. He joined Continental Teves as head of Sales and Marketing North America when Continental acquired ITT Automotive’s Brake and Chassis unit in 1998.

He held mechanical engineering positions at General Motors Corporation and a management position at Raybestos prior to joining ITT Automotive.

Klei earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MBA from Oakland University. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Crime Stoppers of Michigan.

He currently resides with his family in Shelby Township, Michigan.

Chassis & Safety

The Chassis & Safety division develops and produces integrated active and passive driving safety technologies as well as products that support vehicle dynamics. The product portfolio ranges from electronic and hydraulic brake and chassis control systems to sensors, advanced driver assistance systems, airbag electronics and sensorics as well as electronic air suspension systems all the way to windscreen washer systems and headlight cleaning nozzles. The focus lies on a high level of system competence and the networking of individual components. Thus products and system functions are developed along the SensePlanAct chain of effects. They form the foundation for automated driving. Chassis & Safety employs more than 40,000 people worldwide and generated sales of approximately €8.4 billion in 2015.


Information management in and beyond the vehicle is at the very heart of the Interior division. The product portfolio for different types of vehicles includes: instrument clusters, multifunctional and head-up displays, control units, access control and tire-information systems, radios, infotainment systems, input devices, control panels, climate control units, software, cockpits as well as services and solutions for telematics and Intelligent Transportation Systems. The Interior division employs more than 40,000 people worldwide and generated sales of approximately €8.2 billion in 2015.


The Powertrain Divisiondevelops and produces efficient system solutions for vehicle powertrains to optimize fuel consumption. The comprehensive range of products includes gasoline and diesel injection systems, engine management and transmission control, including sensors and actuators, exhaust aftertreatment technologies, fuel supply systems, and components and systems for hybrid and electric drives. Powertrain employs more than 35,000 people worldwide. In 2015, it recorded sales of about €7.0 billion.
