About this course

Mechatronics is the study of mechanical systems that are electronically controlled by intelligent computer systems. The study is wide ranging and covers applications in most industrial sectors: Transport, Healthcare, Service, Automotive and Entertainment. Examples of mechatronics system range from fuzzy logic controlled washing machines, through electronic braking systems to robots for volcanic exploration.

It's a great challenge and you need good technical skills as well as the ability to work in a team if you are going to be successful. The course at Leeds has been designed to give you experiences that will allow you to go and do this in an industrial setting. Many of our students go straight into industry but they are also sought after for many different career paths as they gain a wide range of other skills such as team working and problem solvin
