Student Congress

FISITA organises a Student Congress alongside the main FISITA World Automotive Congress every 2 years. The next Student Congress will take place in Munich, Germany from 14-19 September 2008.

The Student Congress typically consists of 3 half-day sessions with written papers (normally 6-8 pages) presented by engineering students from all over the world.

As a delegate to the Student Congress you can attend the Plenary Sessions of the main FISITA Congress and then take part in the specially organised sessions in the afternoons, joining students from other countries to present your technical paper and discuss your work in a stimulating environment. You also have the opportunity to visit automotive plants and research facilities and to meet with some of the world's most influencial engineers, designers and experts.

Eligibility is restricted to full-time engineering students (either at bachelors, masters or postgraduate level). Proof of student status is required when registering.

Islands of Excellence

Universities and research institutions are invited to submit details of their automotive research projects, for the chance to win FREE exhibition space at the FISITA 2008 World Automotive Congress.

These free exhibition spaces, called 'Islands of Excellence', enable academic institutions to display their research projects to the many engineers and industry executives who pass through the exhibition area. VDI and FISITA will meet the cost of the exhibition space (up to 60m²) and basic equipment, as well as providing two exhibitor badges and one full congress ticket.

There will be five Islands of Excellence, focusing on the following topics:

  • Vehicle Safety
  • Mobility Concepts
  • Future Powertrains and Fuels
  • Simulation, Testing and Virtual Reality
  • Vehicle Concepts, Electronics, Body and Chassis Design

For a chance to win an "Island of Excellence" please submit your application form by Friday 14th December 2007.
