Events Officer
Location: Central London
Contract: Full-time, permanent position
A great opportunity for an experienced Events Officer to join our small but thriving team in Cenral London, working with engineers, scientists, business leaders and policy-makers. Ideal for an independent self-starter with strong organisational and communications skills.
As an experienced conference and events professional you will be responsible for managing and promoting FISITA's meetings, ranging from the biennial FISITA World Automotive Congress, the prestigious, invitation-only World Automotive Summit, and other topical conferences and stakeholder meetings throughout the world. It will be your job to ensure that they run smoothly, to budget and enhance the reputation and public profile of the organisation.
Your profile:
- Event management and co-ordination experience including large-scale conferences with over 1,000 delegates and exhibitors.
- Experience identifying suppliers and venues and negotiating favourable contract terms.
- Marketing and communications skills, including copywriting, liaison with trade press and using social media to raise awareness of events.
- Experience raising revenues for events including sponsorship and advertising.
- Interest in science, technology and the global auto industry.
- Undergraduate degree.
You will have to be efficient and organised, self sufficient and proactive, with the ability to make decisions and stand by them. You'll also need to enjoy the pressures of working with very high level delegates and speakers and be comfortable in an international environment, with strong empathy for different cultures. Some international travel is required.

Education Officer
Location: Central London
Contract: Full-time, permanent position
Help us to ensure the next generation of automotive engineers capable of providing sustainable mobility for mankind. We need a passionate and experienced project coordinator and marketer with a deep knowledge of Higher Education and Careers advice to join our small, busy team in Central London and help us spread the word about studying engineering and working in the automotive industry.
Working with FISITA’s international Education Committee, you will plan, execute and communicate our initiatives in support of students and young engineers throughout the world, including our Student Congress, Travel Bursary Programme and an annual seminar for engineering educators. You will also manage and develop a new web site providing education and careers advice to young people and informing them about the exciting potential of a career in automotive engineering.
This is a great opportunity for an independent self-starter with strong project-management and marketing communications skills.
Your profile:
- Proven track record of project management and delivery, including experience of organising meetings and events
- A strong background in student /higher education marketing including the development of marketing collateral and direct mail campaigns
- An understating of the higher education sector, experience of working in education is essential
Excellent copywriting skills and previous experience of producing glossy documentation - A detailed understanding of online marketing techniques, including web site maintenance and extensive use of social media channels
- The ability to work on your own and previous experience of representing complex organisations to a variety of stakeholders.
- Interest in science, technology and the global auto industry.
- Undergraduate degree.
