Shigeo Ishida is currently President and CEO of JATCO Ltd.
Mr. Ishida was born in 1948. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering of Yamaguchi University in 1970 and began his career at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
He held various management positions between 1994 and 1998, including Deputy General Manager of the Design and Administration Department in 1994, General Manager of the Vehicle Design Department No.1 in1996, and President of the Nissan Technical Center North America, Inc. in 1998. In 2002, he was named Senior Vice President.
Mr. Ishidawas appointedPresident and CEO of JATCO Ltd in March 2005.

Jatco Ltd was established in 1999, as TransTechnology Ltd., after spinning off from Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., to Develop and produce automotive transmissions and components.
After the merger with Diamondmatic Co., Ltd., formerly a division of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Jatco has grown to be one of the largest transmission manufacturers in the world, with sales of approximately 500 billion yen or 4 million units.
We have a global customer base that includes Nissan, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Fuji Heavy Industry and Land Rover in Europe, and Renault Samsung and Hyundai in Asia. To provide customers with quick and close support in sales, R&D and after-sales services worldwide, we have overseas offices located in North America, France and South Korea.
For a timely response to meet customer demands for CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) we built our new CVT plant in Aguascalientes State, Mexico in 2004. We will also start to manufacture in Guangzhou, China in 2009.
All of our offices have been accredited and registered with the Environmental Management and Performance standards, ISO 14001. This shows that our environmental management and maintenance system tailored to correspond to our business activities is working effectively and that our efforts are internationally recognized.
One of our most important missions is "working to improve the global environment and protect resources." To accomplish this, we are actively engaged in technological innovation to contribute to improve fuel economy and reduce CO2 emissions by producing multi-stage, lightweight, and compact products. We are the only supplier in the world which supplies full line-up of CVT. In addition, we developed 7-speed automatic transmissions in March ,2008. We also actively work to use recyclable parts and establish an AT rebuilding structure for the effective use of resources.
With regards to quality, we have built a thorough quality assurance system for a variety of activities, including product planning, design, production, sales and service, and received certification for ISO/TS 16949 an international quality control standard. We also actively conduct TQM and TQC activities and have been awarded the Deming Prize and TPM Special Award.
Our company's aim is to timely develop and provide products which promptly satisfy the customers' needs; this is our global marketing. We will gather our long experience of development, production, distribution knowledge in order to provide further high performance, high quality, fair-priced ATs.
